Rossy De Palma discovers the graffiti collection

The most iconic face of Spanish cinema, a friend of the house, strolls through the "agnès b." graffiti collection at La Fab. 

What will you remember about this visit?

Rossy de Palma: I loved it. I went from surprise to surprise, which suits the curious person that I am. Culture has a therapeutic power for me, and this gallery is the proof of that: it relaxed me, it's an enchanted parenthesis (she laughs).

Which three works were your favorites?

RdP: I would say Jonas Mekas' Keep Singing, Cleon Peterson's Virgins (see images), and Manhu Ripoulin's masterpiece.

What is your relationship with graffiti?

RdP: I knew the great graffiti artists of the 1980s, I followed their struggle to be recognised as artists. They had this image of people who made a mess of the places they passed through, whereas it was the complete opposite! They give life to the city, and I love that. They are an integral part of my identity.

How would you describe agnès b. in one sentence?

RdP: She is a modern heroine, with impressive power and determination, who has always remained humble and gentle.
