Born in Granada, Spain, in 1963, French artist Rafael Gray became known in the early 1980s for his graffiti and posters in the streets of Paris and New York. From these urban experiences, he keeps a spontaneous graphic gesture and constantly searches for new spaces for his painting. From graffiti to the cinema, via performances and installations, he has always avoided setting on a particular style or school. He prefers to favor a certain idea of freedom linked to movement. A keen traveler, he is known for his artistic interpretation of world maps, which feature gigantic creations plastered on walls. His work is a continual play on the notion of limits.
