The latest issue of the publication co-founded by agnès b. in 1997 gives carte blanche to the American photographer.

William Eggleston, born in 1939 in Memphis, Mississippi, is an American photographer and a pioneer of color photography. For Le Point d’Ironie, William Eggleston selected four photographs from The Outlands. He took this series of photographs by Eggleston between 1969 and 1974, and establishes the visual themes and revolutionary vocabulary that he would continue to develop over the decades that followed. The work unfolds as a journey through a mythical, rapidly changing American South, seen through the artist’s lens: vivid colors and a deep sense of nostalgia resonate throughout Eggleston’s breathtaking body of work.
