Faile is an artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil, born in 1975, and Patrick Miller, born in 1976, who live and work in Brooklyn, New York. Their name is an anagram of their first project, “A life.” Since its creation in 1999, Faile has explored duality through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage. While painting and printmaking remain central to their approach, over the past decade, Faile has adapted their iconography to a wide range of materials and techniques: wooden boxes, more traditional canvases, prints, sculptures, stencils, facilities, etc. Faile’s work is constructed from found visual images and aims to blur the line between ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture. This work, which is part of the agnès b. collection, was presented in the exhibition “Graffiti dans la collection agnès b.” at La Fab., in Paris, in 2021.
