' on aime le graff ' :

agnès b. celebrates Street Art at La Piscine of Roubaix

26 june 2025

From 27 June 2025 to 11 January 2026, the exhibition ' on aime le graff ' at La Piscine invites visitors to explore graffiti’s raw power through photographs, clothes, artist collaborations, and personal artefacts from agnès b.’s archives. It’s a moving testimony of how fashion, activism, and street art have intertwined in her life.

A trailblazer of street art takes centre stage

Graffiti ? I've always loved it. For me, it's a vivid expression of artistic renewal.

From 27 June 2025 to 11 January 2026, the La Piscine – Museum of Art and Industry André Diligent in Roubaix will host We Love Graffiti, a bold and heartfelt exhibition curated by agnès b. alongside Karine Lacquemant. This vibrant journey into urban art showcases the personal collection and creative spirit of a woman who’s spent decades championing street culture.

Unlike many, agnès b. didn’t discover graffiti in galleries. Her first encounters were on the streets of New York, Paris, London, in the 1980s—watching artists like Futura, JonOne, Sharp, Bando, and more:

“I used to go see them paint in Paris or Brooklyn. I’ve been friends with the BBC crew—JayOne, Skki, JonOne—for years.”

Her appreciation quickly became activism. In 1984, she opened her first gallery in Paris, giving street artists an exhibition space long before the art world welcomed them. That ethos still lives on today through La Fab., her foundation and cultural space in Paris’s 13th arrondissement.

A living archive of graffiti, fashion and rebellion

agnès b. is more than a designer—she's a patron of creative freedom. For her, fashion was never just about clothes.

I’ve always been inspired by people in the street. I like to work with those who have their own visual language.
