Three years on from the release of debut album ‘caroline’, London-based eight-piece caroline announce new album ‘caroline 2’, to be released via Rough Trade Records.

On June 13th 2024, Joakim, along with six guest musicians performed Terry Riley’s renowned piece “In C” at a sold-out Philharmonie de Paris. This is the recording of their live performance. The guest musicians were Amosphere, Apollo Noir, Canblaster, Narumi Herisson, Joseph Schiano di Lombo, and Frederic Soulard. You can read Joakim’s introduction of those artists below.

Irish musician Maria Somerville will share her second album and debut project on 4AD, Luster. Ahead of the release, Somerville has now shared one final single off the record, “Spring” — a whirring and atmospheric dreamgaze track, full yet fleeting with distorted acoustic strumming, ghostly siren calls, commanding head-bobbing percussion, and a surprising autotuned outro.

agnès b. is a long-time partner of the band Poni Hoax, with numerous collaborations spanning over two decades. Poni Hoax performed the long version of their song "Budapest" at the agnès b fashion show in Tokyo in 2005. Poni Hoax performed at agnès b.’s invitation for the Warm Up Series at PS1 in New York in 2007. The band also performed for agnès b.’s 30th birthday at the Olympia, among other events.

After making their mark with their acclaimed 2024 album, When All You Want To Do Is Be The Fire Part of Fire, French experimental pop duo UTO return with More Heat to the Fire Part of Fire. This five-track collection pushes the boundaries of their unique sound, brilliantly fusing electronic and organic elements for a deeply emotive aural experience. The title track “Spy,” inspired by Anaïs Nin’s book Spy in the House of Love, explores obsession and desire with a 2000s bloghouse feel, perfect for invading airwaves and setting dance floors ablaze.

Wewantsounds continues its extensive Meiko Kaji reissue program - in partnership with Teichiku Records and Kaji herself - with the release of Yadokari, her third album from 1973. This marks the first time the album has been reissued on vinyl, featuring its original artwork and newly remastered audio. Renowned for her iconic 1970s films (Lady Snowblood, the Stray Cat Rock series) and admired by Quentin Tarantino, Meiko Kaji also released a string of outstanding albums on Teichiku, blending Japanese pop with cinematic grooves. Yadokari, is reissued here with its original deluxe gatefold sleeve andOBI plus a two-page insert featuring new liner notes by Hashim Kotaro Bharoocha. As a special bonus, this edition includes a 7" EP single featuring Shura No Hana, famously featured on the Kill Bill soundtrack.

Chris Imler is a drummer, singer, songwriter, and composer. He first gained attention in the late 1990s as the drummer for the cult Berlin band Golden Showers. Since then, he has collaborated extensively with artists and groups such as Peaches, Puppetmastaz, Soffy O, Jens Friebe, and Oum Shatt. With Patric Catani, he also founded the project Driver & Driver.

Described as 'the best album the Pixies never made', Frank Black's Teenager of The Year is being re-released on gold vinyl to mark its 30th anniversary. Pitchfork named it one of the 100 best albums of the '90s. KOMPROMAT is the alliance of Vitalic and Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi, Mansfield.TYA). Their first album Traum und Existenz, released in 2019 on Clivage Music (Vitalic's label), laid the foundations for a dark and hard-hitting universe. In January 2025, they returned with PLДYING / PRДYING on Warriorecords, a label founded by Rebeka Warrior. This new album explores themes such as prayer (pagan or not), funeral rites, passages between different worlds, but also the pleasures of the flesh, dance, and ecstasy - like a divine invocation through music.

Area Silenzio is eat-girls' debut record and it is both haunted and haunting. For the past four years, the French trio have been crafting their songs into little self-contained worlds with the patience of entomologists, taking them out all over the country and Europe to confront them with the wilderness of a live audience. The ten resulting tracks are a collection of electronic madrigals, groove driven songs played on a mischievous multi-speed Victrola, ranging from languid dub drips to full-on drum machine cavalcades.

Wewantsounds is delighted to announce the release of one of Japan's most coveted albums of the 70s, "Mangekyou" by singer-songwriter Yoshiko Sai. Produced in 1975 by Master musician Yuji Ohno, the album features Yoshiko Sai's superbly crafted songs and crystal clear voice over Ohno's lush, funky sound and breezy arrangements. A strong buzz has been growing around the album over the years and original copies now change hands for large sums of money. This is the first time "Mangekyou" is available outside of Japan, featuring remastered audio, original artwork and a 4 page insert including new liner notes by Paul Bowler.

In keeping with Kim Deal meticulous approach to all her projects, the album was honed over several years. Originally from La Hague near Cherbourg and based in Rennes for 7 years, Héron Cendré shapes a poetic world where modular synth sounds, field recordings gleaned from schools and other minimalist lo-fi oddities blend together. The album 3-4 is the perfect illustration of this. It is "a feat of purity, minimal, chaotic, sacred, cosmic, tender, all at once and more, between film music and spatial signal, a new language all by itself" (Gonzaï). Among his influences, we can cite Terry Riley, Philippe Glass, Hiroshi Yoshimura as well as François de Roubaix, Jean-Jacques Perrey or Pierre Bastien.

Jose Guerrero aka Telomante lives in Valencia and runs the Mascarpone Discos label. A prolific producer, he multiplies projects such as Sentuhlà on Abstrakce Records or Rastrejo on his own label. Codantera is a contemplative stroll through soundscapes that leave plenty of room for improvisation where harmonic fields and abrupt experimentations intersect on the same plane. The warmth of the sound and the strength that emanates from it make this album a gem of minimalist electronic music.

Naomie Klaus is a young artist from Marseille based in Brussels.
