Workwear
“At the time, I found fashion too complicated. I wanted to start again from scratch, taking work wear pieces as a basis. I brought a new take on painter’s pants, workman’s jackets, and mechanic’s jumpsuits and overalls..." agnès b. The idea of taking traditional workwear garments and modifying the fabric became a desire for agnès b. and is an integral part of her collections.
Since opening her first Rue du Jour boutique, Agnès has been using over-dyeing, a technique she had already been practising by dyeing cotton directly in the shop. She then applied it to thicker cottons such as denim to create her work wardrobe: durable pieces in a variety of colours with a vintage, worn-in look.
